1.0 Introduction Biogeography is an area of study within the field of biology. In its simplest terms, it's the study of the distribution of plants and other wildlife across the globe; however, there is much more to it than that. Biogeography is the study of closely examining the natural occurring patterns and processes within Earth's biosphere, and figuring out how those specific developments came to be. The subject of this report, island biogeography, is a section of biogeography that is key in studying these phenomena.  The video, "Theory of Island Biogeography" (Quantumwombat, 2015), describes island biogeography as a concept that explains species diversity on islands, with islands being classified as any area of land that has distinct characteristics differing from its surrounding area.   What I Most Look Forward to in My Environmental Science Class - For this environmental science class, I'm mostly looking forward to seeing what this "blog" of mine is going to look like once this semester is over. I've never had to use/create something like this before, and I'm assuming that we'll be posting here quite frequently for this course, so I'm curious to see what this thing will look like when everything is said and done. I could end up enjoying, or hating this new experience depending on how this class goes, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see.  What I Think This Class Will Be About - When I think of "environmental science", I mostly think about nature, ecosystems, and other biological communities. Based on that, I predict/expect this class to be about topics along those lines. For example, like how multiple different species coexist to form a community, or how a forest will regrow itself after natural disasters.
